Apple has updated HomePod for version 11.3. The speaker has updated automatically. There does not seem to be support for AirPlay 2 in place.
The HomePod update improves stability and sound quality.
If you have a beta version installed, you must delete the beta profile, to get the final RTM version and to update HomePod.

It appears, however, that AirPlay 2 will still be delivered via the Home app after installing 11.3.
Update in less than an hour
The update is supposed to be rolled out at 19:00 Norwegian time.
There are a number of improvements in 11.3, including improved performance, but also some new features like battery information, four new animos to iPhone X, Business Chat to iMessage (USA only), new health info in the Health app and HomeKit software authentication without chip verifying.
