But it's not a UWP app, so it does not work on Xbox.

Spotify is finally in the Windows Store.

Download a little easier
The company is one of the few major players who are early with their own version for the Windows Store, a mobile and PC store needing a boost to be close to what's on Android and iOS.

Unfortunately, this is not a UWP app, so it works only on traditional x86 machines, not ARM tablets and other devices, nor Xbox.
