The Famous Movie Release Group Behind KickAss Has Started Uploading Torrents

The KATRG group was an in-house pirated movie and TV show contributor to the then world’s most popular torrent website KickAss Torrents. It has been known that KATRG has prepared itself for a new journey, the group has been active on the new KAT domain since the last few weeks.

Just before the end of 2016, the defunct torrent hosting website KickAss Torrents reportedly resurfaced online, but without the torrents database.

Now, it’s almost a month from then, and we’ve have heard KATRG – famous for releasing pirated entertainment content – has restarted its operations on the rejuvenated KAT domain. KATRG is KickAss Torrents’ in-house release group of unknown people which first appeared in 2015.

The world saw the consequences KickAss Torrents and its founder Artem Vaulin had to go through, following the seizure of domains and Vaulin’s arrest. So, it is highly unlikely that KickAss Torrents may achieve the same level of fan following.

Also, the increase in the adoption of online audio and video streaming services like Apple Music, Spotify, Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, etc. may cause a big dent in the illegal global consumption of copyrighted songs, movies, TV shows, etc.

Do you think people should promote the use of pirated content? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
