The RTX 4070 12GB will have to compete against AMD's recently launched RX 7800 XT, but will it go in Nvidia's favor?

DLSS or more RAM for almost the same price?

Nvidia usually charges almost NOK 8,000 for the upper mid-range card and boasts better ray tracing performance combined with DLSS 3, while the RX 7800 XT with 16 GB RAM can be had for NOK 7,000. It can be excessively tough for Nvidia to convince, even if in certain cases they can show better performance, however, with 16 GB of RAM, you will be able to turn up the level of detail without overloading in the vast majority of cases.

 

It is therefore not surprising that we are now seeing price cuts on the cards: Asus GeForce RTX 4070 Dual OC HDMI 3xDP 12GB can be purchased for NOK 7,349 (in the US the offer is $549, excluding VAT) - also Gigabyte's RTX 4070 Windforce OC 12GB GDDR6X can be bought for around NOK 7,500, a price cut from just over NOK 8,000 this summer.

 

However, TechPowerUp does not believe that the price cut will be permanent, but that the manufacturers will try their hand at offers. Will it be Nvidia or AMD on you?A
