Before Apple unveils iOS 17 and all the other new OSes on June 5 at the WWDC developer conference, it's already ready to talk about new accessibility features coming this fall.

15 minutes creates a digital version of your voice
One of the most exciting is that the iPhone with iOS 17 will be able to learn to recognize your voice so that it can then speak like you. The feature is mostly intended for people who are at risk of losing the ability to vote, such as those with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

"Personal Voice is an easy and safe way to create a voice that sounds like them," explains Apple, saying that it takes 15 minutes to recreate the voice on an iPhone or iPad.

“With Live Speech on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, users can type what they want to say and then have it spoken during phone and FaceTime conversations. Users can also save frequently used phrases to respond quickly during lively conversations with family, friends, and colleagues. Live Speech has been developed to support millions of people globally who are unable to speak or who have lost their speech over time.”

There are other novelties, too, including one that optimizes Apple's apps with a far simpler interface that presents basic functions that are easy to tap:
