Download this update to avoid damaging your MacBook with a USB hub

Some MacBook models in combination with some USB C hubs may end up with hardware short.

These models need to upgrade now
We do not remember hearing about this error before, but now macOS Big Sur 11.2.2 has been launched and fixes the error.

Apple says there are some third-party non-approved USB C hubs that can no longer damage the hardware.
Note that not all MacBooks will receive the update, only those who need it. We are talking about MacBook Pro 2019 and newer and MacBook Air 2020 and newer. Affected models include the M1.
