Some may make money from virus videos anyway.

Some may make money from virus videos anyway.

On February 11, YouTube announced in a video on its channel "Creator Insider" that videos mentioning the coronavirus would have the ads removed and thus not contribute to the creator's income. The reason for this is that the coronavirus falls under their perception of a sensitive topic.

As a result, channels that even mentioned the virus in their videos lost the opportunity to make money from these videos.
Facilitates the limitations
Now YouTube eases the restrictions and opens up for selected channels to name the virus without compromising revenue. In the first instance, this applies to some news partners and other selected Youtube channels that can provide a good reason for why they should be able to name the virus.

Taking responsibility
YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki points out that YouTube will be quick to remove videos that violate their terms, including those that discourage people from receiving medical treatment for the virus or claiming health benefits from harmful drugs.

- Important with correct information
She also says that finding accurate and credible information is important now that the virus has come and that they want to make sure YouTube is communicating the right information to its users.
