Microsoft has hidden an "easter egg".
As part of the unveiling of the new Edge logo last year, Microsoft launched a free surfing game in Edge.
Available from the address bar
Now the game will soon be available to anyone who has the Edge browser, but you can already play it if you have a Canary or Dev version of Edge (download here).
From there, you can easily find the game by typing "edge: // surf" in the address bar.
Play with controls
Once you find the game, you can connect to an external control (such as Xbox One controls) via Bluetooth, which makes it easier to control the game character. Or you can control the game using the keyboard, mouse or touch (if you have a touch screen).
Three modes
For people who remember SkiFree, this surfing game will evoke memories. Here you can access three different modes. A classic surf mode, a time trial mode and a slalom mode where you have to surf between ports.
In standard mode, you surf through a challenging landscape where you have to avoid crashing with various obstacles, sometimes with a monster notch in the heel.
The "Time Trial" mode is about reaching a goal within a given timeframe.
Works offline
The surf game works even if you do not have internet access, so maybe this is something to kill some time with the next time the net drops out?
