When 2019 was just around the corner, two employees in Chinese Huawei sent out a Twitter message through the company's official account. There they wanted a good new year, which was a decent thing to do.

The problem was just that the employees used an iPhone to do it. They were revealed by the text "via Twitter for iPhone".

 

Tweets were deleted reasonably quickly, but screenshots have perpetuated the incident and are now spreading on social media.

 

The news agency Reuters has seen an internal Huawei note, in which the vice president of the company, Chen Lifang, states the following:

 

"The incident caused damage to the Huawei brand"

In the note, it also emerges why they chose to use a telephone from their angry competitor. The reason is that employees had VPN problems on their computers, which led them to bring out an iPhone to publish the message.

 

The incident will also not be without consequences for those responsible. According to the Huawei note, the company has punished the two employees by degrading them in the rank system. In this case, it means lower wages. There should be the talk of about 6,000 NOK less to rotate in the month for the people behind the Twitter tab.
