IE update should only close security holes - making Lenovo machines useless

A few days ago Microsoft sent out an urgent update for Internet Explorer. It should actually close a security hole, but at the same time brought some unforeseen problems to many users.

These apply to it
A number of Lenovo users report that Windows refuses to boot after the KB4467691 update installation.

This applies to Lenovo computers with less than 8 GB of RAM, according to Microsoft.

The company also comes with some possible solutions that can work.

  • Enter the UEFI menu and turn off "Secure Boot". Then restart the machine.

  • If BitLocker is enabled on the machine, you may need to go through BitLocker's recovery process after the Secure Boot is turned off.

Fit comes

Microsoft says they "work with Lenovo and want to offer an update" later.

Although increasingly fewer use Internet Explorer, it is especially thought that a small patch can make the whole system useless in this way.

Fortunately, this issue does not apply to as many as the October update was launched this fall.
