Replaces "My Office".
As part of the simplification of the login process among other things, Microsoft introduces an app called Office. The program is free and can be used with any Office 365 subscription. Alternatively, you can use the app in Office 2019, 2016 or Office Online - the free solution in your browser.
Available now - or soon
The new Office app is an upgrade from what already exists in the form of "My Office". It can be downloaded already now if you are a Windows Insider member, but otherwise, it will be available to other users soon according to Microsoft itself.
The program is intended to make navigation between different Microsoft applications easier and more efficient, where recent documents are easier to find wherever they are located. In addition, Microsoft has implemented the new search feature that includes search results from both Windows 10, Office 365 and Bing.
Provides a better overview
The new Office application provides users with an easy overview of which applications and services are available and the ability to download Office programs locally. It's not confirmed, but rumors are swearing that Microsoft will eventually be able to retrieve the possibility of retrieving LinkedIn data.
If you have already downloaded the old "My Office" app then you get the new one through the automatic update, otherwise, you have to download it from Microsoft. From the summer of 2019, all Windows 10 computers will come with the new Office app pre-installed.
