This card holds the record

Micron has developed a microSD card, i400, which stores a full 1.5TB.

3D NAND continues to impress, and it will get better
There is a storage record for this type of memory chip which is intended for surveillance cameras for continuous recording for four months. To be able to store so much in such a small design, Micron uses a 76-layer 3D NAND process.

The company is currently developing 232-layer 3D NAND technology and in the future, they will manage over 500.

That the company is interested in this market does not surprise anyone when the estimates point in the direction that the segment will be worth NOK 823 billion by 2030.

Data can be retrieved at the same time as the recording
Only after two million hours can the card's storage no longer be guaranteed. The i400 is fast enough for 4K video recording in combination with "up to eight AI events per second".

The card can therefore record video and the user can retrieve data at the same time.
