One of these is share menus in apps that have always allowed developers to do their own thing - until now.

For years, Apple has been criticized for not allowing users to change any part of the OS, while Android gives manufacturers the opportunity to change everything they want.
This works when developers know what they are doing, but not when they are not so good at it. With Android 12, Google seems to be closer to a balance where you can change the interface to a far greater extent than iOS, but which is also within Google's framework.
