But the standard is not yet approved in Europe.

Qualcomm has announced a mobile chip and router for the fast WiFi 6E standard, which we hope will arrive in Norway soon - as it enables the speeds to be significantly increased.

WiFi 6E is not approved in Europe yet
6E provides an even broader spectrum in supported countries, including the United States where use has already been approved. The new chipset for mobile is ready for mobile manufacturers in the second half of this year. The router, it is already launched.

The two mobile chips advertised are called FastConnect 6700 and FastConnect 6900. In theory, these have maximum speeds of 3Gbps and 3.6Gbps. They both support 160MHz on 5- and 6GHz networks.

Most mobiles with WiFi 6E come in 2021
It is currently uncertain whether Android phones will arrive this year.

It is quite possible that many of them wait until Qualcomm bakes the support into the Snapdragon chips, if they want to support in place right away, there must be an additional module in place. The same thing as 5G, that is.

To give a sense of the performance improvement that will be possible, for most people only next year, when the Qualcomm router chips reach up to 5.4Gbps at the lowest speed and up to 16 streams simultaneously and 10.8Gbps.

Qualcomm even envisions that the chips will use the new 6GHz spectrum to wirelessly connect the devices to release the 5GHz portion for communication between the devices.
