Neither the Tesla driver nor the passenger deserves to boast about this…

This is what it looks like when someone trusts 100 percent on Autopilot.

This is what it looks like when someone trusts 100 percent on Autopilot.

Tesla's Autopilot feature may be advanced and promising, and Elon Musk might give us an idea of what the future brings for our cars, but we haven't come so far that the driver should sleep behind the wheel while the car is up and running.

However, that's what happens in the video clip below.

No one in the car was awake
Both the driver and the passenger appear to be in dreamland as the car speeds off the Massachusetts freeway.

It was all captured on film by a passing driver who could hardly believe what he was witnessing.

“A guy is literally asleep at the back of Mass Pike. Tesla's sick, I guess, "the person wrote on Twitter.

- Thought it couldn't vote
According to the witness, the car must have been moving at 96 km / h. In an attempt to awaken the zombie driver, the witness chose to slip away, with no result.

- I looked to my side and discovered what I thought was someone sleeping behind the wheel. I thought it couldn't vote, so I double-checked and yeah - there sat a man with his head between his legs completely asleep, the man tells NBC10 Boston.

Not the first time
Police say to the site that they have not yet received any inquiries regarding the incident, but confirm that they are aware of the case.

This is far from the first time we see and hear about Tesla drivers sleeping behind the wheel while the car is speeding. Something similar happened this summer when a supposedly dormant Tesla driver was caught on film in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Fake videos?
Following that incident, Tesla insinuated that the video was fake.

“Many of these videos appear to be dangerous jokes and scams. Our driver monitoring system repeatedly reminds the driver to be alert and prohibits the use of Autopilot when the warnings are ignored. At highway speeds, drivers receive alerts every 30 seconds or less if the steering wheel does not register their hands, ”the company stated.

Tesla also added:

"Tesla owners have run billions of miles using Autopilot, and data from our quarterly Vehicle Safety Report indicates that drivers using Autopilot experience fewer accidents compared to those operating the car without assistance."
