Samsung's new SSDs have intended servers, but technology will soon end up in consumer products.

The consumer version comes later this year
For the company has managed to pack more per cm than any other manufacturer: we speak 8TB distributed on 11cm x 3.05cm. This is twice as much per flat than what is possible per today.

16 Samsung NAND packages, each with 16 layers of 256GB 3-bit V-NAND, need to reach so many GB. Thanks to the new product, you can save 567TB on 2U rack servers.

The discs deliver speeds of 3100 and 200 MB per second, which is already common in the quick portable. A 512GB version of 3-bit V-NAND comes later this year for even faster consumer disks.
