At least 30 percent must be made in the region.

In an interview with Variety, Commander of the European Commission's communications network, Roberto Viola, said that they will demand more power services like Netflix and Amazon in the future.

At least 30 percent European content
Viola says that they want a more even distribution of content on the US power services and that it applies, inter alia, to the content of the content.

The EU Commission's proposal is that at least 30 percent - it can also be 40 percent - of the content of power services available in Europe, is produced in this region. This includes proprietary content, such as Netflix or Amazon Prime Originals, but also purchased series and movies. Another option is to contribute financially to a local film fund, for example, by increasing the price of the subscription.

The bill has not yet been adopted, but Viola says it is only a matter of formality.

Netflix is well located
Opposite Variety, Viola draws Netflix as best in the class and says that the streaming service is not far away from reaching 30 percent European content on platform.

In October, the EU Commission will present a report showing how much of the content of the various power services is European.

Do you miss more European content from streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and HBO?
