Now also closes AMD CPU holes

Not so untouched anyway.

Intel dominates the market with its CPUs for laptops and desktops and has therefore suffered the most, but AMD has received some attention lately with Vega and Ryzen.

Now they have to keep their tongue right because they have the opportunity to steal customers from Intel.

Updates own CPUs
AMD was quick outside saying that they were not nearly as exposed to Intel, but this may have been a truth with modifications because now there are updates to Spectre and Meltdown.

The updates are coming this week, if not already. Older CPUs will be later rectified via Windows Update (AMD Opteron, Athlon, and AMD Turion X2 Ultra Series).

Google Project Zero (GPZ) Variant 1 and GPZ Variant 2 (Branch Target Injection or Spectre) affect AMD CPUs, while GPZ Variant 3 (Rogue Data Cache Load or Meltdown) does not apply.

- Can not be hacked
AMD still claims that there is no danger of being hacked, but at the same time no mention of performance either in the cloud or at consumers, so it may be possible to prepare a PR text that may also reveal AMD CPU customers less performance loss.

At least, the Radeon GPU is not affected by Spectre or Meltdown as these GPUs do not use speculative code launch.

This, unlike Nvidia, just a few days ago updated its GeForce drivers to seal Meltdown.
