Increased training focus
That's what Ming Chi-Kuo claims to know about the upcoming product, and now we may know a little more as it has leaked a Bluetooth certification from Apple dated November 1st.

Today's AirPods have model name A1523 for the right ear, and A1722 for left -A2031 and A2032 is now leaked and it is revealed that Bluetooth 5.0, and no older Bluetooth 4.2, will drive these.

And, a relatively new patent from June this year, reveals that new AirPods are likely to be a better training partner than the first generation, as it includes training sensors and/or speakers and monitors to monitor calorie burns and body movements. They probably do not get a screen, but that's the category Apple has placed the upcoming product.
